Passive Housing Certification / Energy Saving Service
The Company prides itself on developing homes that are both energy efficient and environmentally friendly. Barry Wright Construction specialise in building passive houses. A passive house is a highly insulated, air tight house with a HRV system that requires little heating. Combining Passive House principles with Solar heating reduces the heat demand of a Passive House by 90%.
Barry Wright Construction have previous experience constructing block built passive houses and we pride ourselves on achieving high rating in our air tightness tests. Our staff are fully trained in working with passive houses to ensure air tightness is maintained. We ensure that our passive houses have:
- The correct design and orientation
- Sufficient insulation
- Certified tape and membranes
- Triple glazed windows
- An efficient HRV System (Heat Recovery Ventilation)
- No Thermal Bridging
- High air tightness levels
In our most recent passive house project we achieved a rating of 0.45 air change per hour, which our team, architects, engineers and clients were extremely satisfied with.
